Sullivan Violins is a full service violin shop. Do you have an old violin that you’re not sure what to do with? At Sullivan Violins, we can evaluate your instrument to determine what repairs are needed, the overall cost to repair, provenance and value of your instrument. We can provide formal appraisals for insurance purposes. Repairs and Restorations

Kenneth Sullivan has over 30 years of repair and restoration experience and training. We provide a full range of repair and restoration services, from major restoration of historically significant instruments, neck grafts, breast patches to replacing corners. We also handle our customers minor repairs such as open seams, bridge straightening or replacement or sound post adjustments. We also offer a full range of bow repair services. Bow re-hair, a normal maintenance, is offered often with 24 hour turn-around. We also offer very fine bow repairs including frog repair,replacing thumb leather, wrap, and splines to name a few. Contact us to get your instrument or bow back into its optimal playing condition. Not sure what repairs are needed? Set up an appointment to have your instrument evaluated. Ken will review with you what repairs are required or recommended and provide you with a no obligation estimate to complete the repairs.

Appraisal Services

Many customers have instruments whose origin or value is unclear. Set up an appointment with Sullivan Violins and we will evaluate it to identify its origin and our opinion as to the value. We will also evaluate what repairs are needed. There is no charge for such an evaluation. If you need a formal appraisal for insurance purposes, we can provide you with a documented appraisal. However, there is a charge for a formal insurance appraisal. We also purchase and take instruments on consignment. So if you’re thinking of selling your instrument, please contact us. We’d love to take a look at it.

Music - At Sullivan Violins, we carry a small selection of music for beginning players. We carry all Suzuki Violin, Viola and Cello books and CD’s as well as Essential Elements. Others are available on order.
