Thomas Dodd, one of the great English makers of the late 18th century, handcrafted this extraordinary viola.

Violists will be appreciative of its small size.  The smaller size allows for ease in playability and command of the instrument.  Typically, smaller violas lack a certain strength in sound - this is not the case.

This viola produces an impressively strong yet warm sound.  The A string has been described as brilliant & singing, while the lower register is robust & sultry.  This sound combination is often difficult to find in violas.  This is the perfect instrument for both solo and ensemble playing.
